Marine Corps Selects MCLB Albany to Host Elite All-Marine Training Camps
Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB) Albany has been selected as the official host installation for the 2024 Men's and Women's All-Marine Sports and Athletics Training Camps.

The base will provide logistics, planning, operations, and Marine Corps Community Services resources through its Semper Fit program. By centralizing these operations at a single Marine Corps location, the base aims to streamline responsibilities and establish efficient processes, ultimately enhancing the overall experience for the athletes.

In addition to hosting the training camps, MCLB Albany will also serve as the venue for various Armed Services championship events upon request. The base has already showcased its capability to host such high-profile competitions, having recently welcomed teams representing the Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Army for the Armed Forces Men's Soccer tournament in April. Over the course of a week, the installation provided support for training sessions and a series of fiercely contested matches.

"Hosting the All-Marine Sports Training Camps is an honor and we look forward to welcoming the finest Marine athletes to MCLB Albany," said Matt Hardwick, MCCS Albany Semper Fit Director. "Providing top-notch facilities and support is critical for enhancing their competitive excellence."

The All-Marine Sports program provides higher-level competitive opportunities for Marines to develop their athletic talents, enhance health and wellness, build camaraderie, and support combat readiness, lethality, and resilience. The program allows exceptional Marine athletes to compete at higher level competitions to include Armed Forces Championships, National Championships, Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM) Championships, and the Olympics.

Furthermore, the program emphasizes the direct connection between athletic competition and the Corps' mission success. By nurturing the athletic talents of Marines, the program aims to bolster recruiting efforts, improve retention rates, and extend the longevity of Marines' military careers, contributing to the overall combat effectiveness of the Marine Corps.
