This 8-week program is a video-based, psychoeducational program designed to assist separated or divorced parents in reducing parental conflict and the risk factors that influence the child's post-separation or divorce adjustment. The program addresses the relationship between separate households created as a result of divorce. It is designed to improve the quality of the parental relationship in situations of joint custody, separate maintenance, change of custody, and paternity.

The topics cover:

  • Making the Commitment to Caring
  • Allowing My Child to Love Both Parents
  • Changing My Long-Term Role
  • Choosing My Personal Path
  • Managing My Own Anger
  • Taking Control of Conflict
  • Negotiating Agreements
  • Coparenting is Forever

Certificates of completion will be provided after attending the 8 classes.

Registration for the class can be through your clinical case manager or by contacting Prevention and Education at the Family Advocacy Program at (760) 725-6039 or through Eventbrite.
