Life Is a Movie, Film Drug Free Premiere
Now through July 25
Roll out the red carpet and join the Substance Assessment Counseling Center (SACC) as we kick off activities in support of Red Ribbon Week in October. Just like in the movies, every scene of your life is precious, and we want to celebrate the power of living drug-free with the Life Is a Movie, Film Drug Free Premiere!
 
Creative Competitions. Kids are encouraged to express themselves creatively while spreading the message of drug-free living. Entry forms are available at the Child Development Center, Exchange, Commissary, MCLB Command Suite, and Building 7260. Entries must be submitted to FAP/Behavioral Health (Bldg. 7260, next to the Chapel) by June 28.
 
Categories:
Poster Making: Participants create posters with anti-drug messages and imagery that ties into “Life is a Movie: Film Drug Free.”
Skit Performances: Teams perform short skits or plays that showcase the consequences of drug abuse and the benefits of making positive choices.
PSA: Short 3-to-5-minute video related to the theme.
Coloring Sheet Contest: PreK and elementary students are invited to complete coloring sheets (available with entry forms).
 
A panel of judges will evaluate the entries in each competition category based on creativity, relevance to the theme, and overall impact.  Winners get bragging rights!
 
Closing Ceremony: Children will showcase their work and share their experiences at the Closing Ceremony at 1PM on July 25 at the MCCS Theater. SACC’s community partners, such as PMO, Behavioral Health, and the Family Advocacy Program, will provide educational information about staying drug free.
 
Community Outreach: We also encourage participants to share their message beyond the event. Kids can perform skits of create sidewalk chalk murals with drug-free messages in their neighborhoods.
