Think you’ve got the strength, endurance, and grit to dominate the poolside arena? Step up to the challenge at MCCS Orca’s Poolside Strongman Competition! This one-of-a-kind event blends raw power with aquatic agility, pushing competitors through five intense events:

Event 1: Ruck & Trap Bar Relay

  • Participants will wear a pre-loaded ROGUE plate carrier while doing this event. On the “go” command, they will run 40ft to the first trap bar, farmer’s carry it 20ft, change to the next bar, carry 20ft, then make it to the final trap bar and carry it 20ft. Upon putting the final bar on the ground, the participant will then run back to the start. Time stops when they pass the beginning line.
  • Male Trap Bar Weights: 145 / 235 / 325
  • Female Trap Bar Weights: 100 / 135 / 225

Event 2: Barbell Clean & Overhead Hold

  • Participants will begin in front of the barbell, standing upright. On the “go” command, they will proceed to clean & press the weight overhead to a lockout position, holding for as long as possible. A standard 45lb barbell will be used for both men & women. Traditional clean & press is allowed, push press, strict press, belly clean, snatch, Arthur Lift, muscle clean, etc. Time begins when a full lockout is achieved and ends when the weight drops to the ground.
  • Male Weight: 135lbs
  • Female Weight: 95lbs

Event 3: Sled, Rope & Chain Pull

  • Participants will sit on a tire , on the “go” command they must pull a sled ~20-30ft via a rope. Once the sled passes the indicated line, they will then get up, move to the opposite end of the sled, and back peddle it past the second indicated line via TRX Handles. Time stops when the sled is back peddled past its original starting line.
  • Male Sled Weight: Sled + 315lbs
  • Female Sled Weight: Sled +185lbs

Event 4: Hydro Haul

  • Participants will begin in the shallow end of the pool, positioned against the wall with a rope at their feet. When the "go" command sounds, you'll race to pull a weighted skid bag toward you. Once the bag reaches your position, lift it out of the water and place it on the deck – then move quickly to tackle the second rope and skid bag. After both bags are on the deck, you'll exit the pool and the clock will stop, your time will be recorded.

Weights Used:

  • Male – 1st Bag, 40lbs // 2nd Bag, 100lbs
  • Female – 1st Bag, 40lbs // 2nd Bag, 70lbs

Event 5: High Dive Dummy Retrieval

  • Participants will stand atop the High Dive, with their toes on the far edge of the board. On the “go” command, they will hop off (NOT DIVE OFF) into the deep end and proceed to swim towards the far right corner of the shallow end. Upon reaching the wall, they must find the submerged rescue dummy and put it on the pool deck. They will repeat this process three more times, and after the final dummy is on the pool deck, the participant will jump out as well, which will end their time.

Whether you’re competing for glory or cheering from the sidelines, this is an event you won’t want to miss. Are you strong enough to take on the Orca? *FINAL TWO EVENTS WILL BE IN THE WATER. COME PREPARED*
